What is the process after my flight lands?
  • You will deplane and walk to the Customs & Immigration line. Have your passports ready. Customs will ask you for the address of your destination. The homes we manage are in rural areas, and we do not have street names, house numbers or addresses.  Most locals use addresses such as  xxx meters north/south/east/west of some known location (such as a church, school, business ,etc.).  Upon arrival at the airport in Costa Rica,  For the sake of simplicity, please provide to them;

  • Proceed past the duty free shops to the baggage claim area and get your luggage
  • You will get in another line and load your luggage and belongings on an xray conveyor belt and hand the agent your claim form provided to you on your inbound flight
  • As you depart the airport there will be dozens of taxi and van drivers for hire
  • If you have rented a vehicle, your rental car agency will have someone there to meet you and take you across the highway to the rental car center so you can fill out your paperwork and be on your way.
  • ​We usually set up our meeting time in Uvita for about 6 hours after flight arrival in San Jose.  This gives you enough time to deplane, go through customs, get your luggage and rental car, stop for a meal and/or groceries, and arrive in our area :-)  
  • Please contact us as you pass through Quepos (about one hour north of Uvita/Ojochal)...we will not leave to meet you, until we have heard from you.  If you are running early or late, please call or WhatsApp us at 8407-4266 and 8705-6022! 
  • We will meet you at the Uvita BM Supermerado grocery store (big white building with big blue "BM" sign) if you arrive in the area before 8pm.  Please do NOT wait for us a the Supermercado Pacifico (orange sign) .  If you don't have a cell phone, please ask the hotel clerk, taxi driver or rental car agent to call AND WhatsApp us when you depart San Jose, to confirm your arrival and when we will meet. We often have multiple sets of guests arriving daily, and need to plan our day carefully to accommodate each check-in and check-out.
